A native of Washington, D.C. now based in Marin, Allegra holds a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and a MFA from the California College of Arts. Throughout she has steadily evolved her approach to mixed media paintings, installations, developing characters and animated objects and moving toward narrative land and dreamscapes. Counting among her influences the work of Goya, Dali and the San Francisco Mission School, her latest art making is informed by living in close proximity to the natural environment, new relationships and her study and practice of Pilates and Vipassana meditation.

Select exhibitions include shows at, diPierto Todd Hair Salon, Southern Exposure Gallery, The Lab, The College of Marin and Art SF. Her work has also appeared in publications including Small Press Traffic, been included in private collections and singled out for regard by The San Francisco Chronicle. Her Mirrored images series can be seen at 77 Salon West in Pleasanton. When she isn't working at her home studio in Marin, CA, Allegra teaches Pilates and travels to foreign lands.
